Tummy pics and Doc update

Hi everyone! We're almost at the 4 month mark.....can you believe it?! We're doing well, I'm feeling well, the baby's doing well.....it told me the other day ;). The little bit of nausea that I had has subsided. The last time I felt turned off to food was the last week of July or so. So that's good news! Yay! I can eat healthy again! I had a monthly appt with the midwife last Thursday and all is good. She had the results from my early screening and the outlook is good. They tested for Downs Syndrome and Trisomy 18. The chances of a baby with DS are 1 in 10,000. That's based on my age group. They sure do know how to make you feel old! They only recommend an amniocentesis if you have a 1 in 100 chance. The chances of a baby with T18 are 1 in 250,000. They recommend amniocentesis if you have a 1 in 250 chance.......or something like that ;). The midwife also said that my uterus is a good size for as far along that I am. I think the baby is about 4 inches long and weighs about 2 1/2 ounces. That's what the books say anyways. It still has been weird trying to grasp the concept that this is actually happening! It's tough because I'm barely showing, so other than not being able to button the top button on my pants and when we see the ultrasound, it's hard to think that there's really a little girl or boy in there! So we've been trying to talk to "it" more at night. For example, I told him/her that he/she is going to have such an easy time getting any thing it wants as long as he/she gives daddy the puppy dog eyes. He really is going to be such a sucker!! (Tommy's going to kill me for saying that!)

Anyways, here are a couple of photos. The first photo was taking at 9 weeks along. The second photo was taken at 15 weeks along.

Love you all!!

  2. You're telling me! I've never seen me with a belly before either....well, unless you count the freshman 15 in college that I packed on. But yes, you'll be fitting into my jeans as I'll be fitting into your old jeans, now that you're a skinny mini!
