Baby Makes Three!: Happy 4th!!

We hope that all of you had just as much fun during this all-American weekend as we did! Ours was filled with a beach day, a couple of bbq's, bike rides and the spectacular Macy's Fireworks. We started our weekend with a trip to our favorite beach, Bradley Beach. This is where we use to rent our beach house, and boy, do we miss it! Jack had a great time, of course! He LOVED the water. He wanted to run right into the ocean, just like his cousin Lucas was doing. He was right in it, splashing in the water, playing in the sand, and when we were holding him, he wanted to go further out into the waves. He had no fear! Even when his mommy didn't get him up in time when a wave came and washed over him, he looked a little confused at first, but then just wanted more! He had so much fun playing with his Auntie Stephie's friends kids, that he didn't even take a nap all day long. I thought for sure that this would backfire at some point, but once we left the beach for dinner in Asbury Park, he was out for the count! Even the transfer to/from the car seat and stroller didn't wake this guy.


Pool party!

On Sunday, even though it started out as a pretty rainy day, it cleared up just enough to enjoy a little pool party/bbq in Mahwah with Auntie Stephie and Uncle Joe. Jack had a blast in the pool! Although, it was a little chilly....and I was encouraging the hot tub, Jack loved playing with the other kids and love playing basketball with the pool hoop. We jumped on the trampoline for a while, as well, but I don't think that he was too sure about that. We ended the night with some illegal, backyard fireworks. Which were pretty awesome, but Jack didn't think so! Too loud, maybe?? Well, hope he likes the Macy's fireworks!

Super fun bike ride!!

Despite the look on his face here, Jack really enjoyed his first bike ride. He kept putting both hands up in the air and yelling "AHHHHHH!" It was so super cute. I guess the motion got the best of him though, because he ended up passing out cold on our way home....haha!

So, the watching the Macy's fireworks didn't work out quite as we planned. But we were prepared for Jack to be scared of them, due to the previous night. He did really well hanging out while we waited. But once they started, he wasn't so sure about them, so we tried our best to show him how exciting it was. In the end, we ended up just heading back home after about 10 minutes of watching them. Although, once we were just a bit further away, he seemed to not be as scared. But he sure was sleepy, so off to the house we rode! Hopefully, it'll be more fun for him next year when he's 2 1/2!
