WOW! What a busy August.....

Really??  Could he BE any cuter?!
Phew!  Mommy and Daddy need a cocktail!  So it appears that it's been almost 2 months since our last post.  Needless to say, it's been a busy end of summer/early fall for the Gisondi family.  Since we last "spoke", we moved from Hoboken to Metuchen, we spent a week in Montauk for vacation and we officially closed on our condo.  Woo Hoo!

Where do I start?  Our move from a 1BR condo to a single family home with 3Br's is pretty big news!  We'll start there then.  We listed our condo in May and it was only on the market for 52 days before going under contract in July.  With an original closing date the Friday before Hurricane Irene hit, you can bet that the closing didn't happen.  But we were already in the new house in Metuchen (which is amazing and pretty perfect and spacious!) so we didn't "care" all too much.  Except the fact that we were ready to be relieved of the stress of selling a place.  Oh, and the fact that we were paying for 2 places, essentially.  We were in Metuchen for a week before heading to Montauk, so it was just enough to get use to the commute and unpack some boxes.  Jack started an entirely new daycare and his crying going in and coming out showed us that he was very confused and wasn't so sure of these new strangers taking care of him.  I don't know what I'm going to do if I ever have to transfer him when he's REALLY in school!  The daycare is pretty good, though.  I really like the small feel of it.  It makes it feel like less of a business and more of a love of being with children.  Jack has now grown to love it as well and now will walk in and wave bye to us as he goes to play with his friends.  So cute! And I think I'm part of the Parents Group (think PTA) now, so I'm getting to know some of the other moms (of mostly older kids) and the owner and I'm starting to get involved in the fundraising projects.  Yay!  I guess I'll have to do this sooner or later so why not start now!

Pooped from all of the unpacking!

Now that we're a month into being in Metuchen, we just love it!  The town is great and has lots of events, our commute is pretty good, our neighbors are awesome and it's so great to be in a real community.  Come and visit!  We now have an actual guest room and driveway to park in!!

Is this not the cutest little tush ever?!

MONTAUK!  Well, even with the stress of the closing on our shoulders, we had already planned to take a week off and head to "The End" for a vacation.  I love this place.  It's so chill and relaxing.  A private beach that you can bike to with a wooded path leading to it, it's amazing.  Jack is walking this time around (last year he just started crawling when we were here!) and boy, did he have fun!  This kid has no fear and has no problem running straight to the water!  The waves can be very rough in Montauk so we had to be careful, but loved it even when it was rough out.  He'd want you to pick him up and go further into the water with him.  Such a little beach babe.  Mommy is in heaven.  Now, to just live somewhere with a nearby beach....haha!

We didn't do to much while in Montauk, except for a lot of "laying" on the beach.  I don't even think that we made it downtown!  The boys went surfing one day, we did a bonfire one night, happy hour another night.  The girls did A LOT of shoe shopping at the Shoe Inn Warehouse sale.  There was some much needed relaxing going on, needless to say.  It was a great vacation and I think Jack had a lot of fun running around on the beach and playing with Lucas.  Now we have to start planning for next summer's week vacation in Wilmington for Nick and Carrie's wedding!

Love you all and hope that you had an awesome summer!
