Happy Thanksgiving, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!!
How can someone have almost 2 weeks off and not get anything done? Well, if it's the impossible, then I have achieved it! As usual, a lot has happened since our last "real" post, such as a visit from Dude and Mimi, Nick and Carrie's engagement party, a visit from Granny Marsha, Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years! My apologies for being so brief with this one, but I need to get moving so I can get Jack's birthday list up! Yay!
As we do every year, we visited the apple orchard in early October during Mimi and Dude's visit and also to celebrate a belated birthday for Nonni. And as we did last year, we visited Warwick Valley Apple Orchard and Winery. This place is amazing! Although, I have to say, the apples were a bit sparse (except from on the fallen trees from the rain....those were delicious actually!), but the drinks made up for it. I love the relaxed, cool, family vibe here. You can picnic, listen to the live band, drink their wine, and pick apples. It's amazing. I especially love the store there. It's always a great time. This trip was especially fun because we literally had the entire family there. Both the Gisondi/Celetti side and the Weyer side. An event that happens far too little, but you know it'll always be a good time!

Congratulations to Nick and Carrie on their engagement!! This obviously is not a current issue of the blog so to bring everyone up to date, Nick proposed to Carrie last summer, Steph and Grace hosted the engagement party at Steph's house in November and the wedding will be in Wilmington, NC on July 21st, 2012. We are so excited! It's also very exciting because all 3 of us will be in the wedding!
The day of the party turned out to be so nice. The weather was pretty amazing being that it was November in New York. Of course, it was chilly once the sun set, but that didn't slow these little nuggets down!
Cheers to the "newly" engaged couple!!

Also in November was a last minute trip for Jack and I to SC to see Mimi and Grandpa. After we eventually got there (a TOTAL horror story that makes me ever so hesitant to fly Continental/United until it is fully combined) it was a great little weekend away. The weather was beautiful (as always) which allowed Jack to spend time in the backyard, harassing the fish in the pond, and spending most of his time in the leaves. An obvious favorite for him! He was nonstop in those leaves! Luckily we had Grandpa around to rake them up into a pile time after time!

One of my favorite days of the year...Thanksgiving! There is nothing better than being with family, eating, drinking, then eating some more. And best of all, this year, we were all in our sweats! The big event took place at Steph and Joe's house this year, which is a first for us. But so great, one, because of the apparel, and two, because it was only one place we had to be and three, because we were able to be with family that we don't see very often. I love low-key holidays. I feel that it helps us focus more on what it's really all about. Gobble gobble!

Great Granny visited us over the Thanksgiving, which was so nice. She was able to enjoy the Velour Sweat theme with us and be with family, which is so important, especially on days like Thanksgiving. Jack has really gotten to know his Great Granny pretty well with her frequent visits. It's so cute to see him recognize who she is. What is also cool, is seeing the generations come together. It's not very often that kids get to be with and enjoy their great grandparents. It's truly a blessing!

I'm not sure when these pics were taken. I want to say October. But they are just so cute! I love Jack's skater look and his Beiber-ish hair. He's being so adorable and carefree in these photos. These are the little nuggets of cuteness that I try to savor forever!

So this year was our turn to be in SC for the holiday and it was soooo nice! I love going away because it lets me actually take days off of work....a lot of them! The weather this time was amazing! It was in the 70's a lot of the days. Basically, I wish I had brought shorts to wear. We were getting so hot playing in the backyard with Jack! I love it. Yes, snow on Christmas is great, but how many times does that actually happen?? While we were down, we took a couple of days to visit Charleston. And of course, it was amazing. We never get tired of it! The weather was beautiful. I just wish we could've stayed longer! The best part was getting to see Meredith and her boys (and hubby!). Jack, Aiden, and Jackson (also Jack) had a blast together, riding the train and looking at the lights at the Festival of Lights in James Island. I can't wait to get down there again so they can all play and hang out! Christmas day was amazing, especially since we didn't have to go anywhere. It was my goal to wear my pj's all day.....and yes, I achieved it! And how could I forget getting to see our friends baby, Luke. He was just over 5 months old and a spitting image of his dad....he was just adorable! Jack loved meeting baby Luke. He still will bring his name up randomly to this day! Jack had a great Christmas, opening his presents and then playing with them all throughout the day. Lastly, on our way home, we stopped at South of the Border to take in it's weirdness. If you've ever been, you'll know exactly what I mean. If you haven't been, you have to go and you'll know exactly what I mean!
For New Year's Eve this year, we were in Vermont (our Gisondi tradition). I don't really have any pictures, since there wasn't much snow, so no sledding or anything, but I will have to post some video we have of Jack. It was a great trip and we all had a blast and loved the relaxation of the no internet/no tv offered by the house we stayed in. Did we make it until midnight? Barely. But that's the best part. No one cares because they just want to get up early to hit up the mountain the next day. It's all about the riding!
Well, although it's a little late, Happy New Year!!
